Charles Washington (5-11, 185) was the top defensive performer when we checked out Crespi against Loyola last month.

He had a couple of pass breakups and a blocked punt that turned the tide in the game, an athletic play where he also recovered his own block in the end zone for a score.

It's been that kind of play that has schools offering and recruiting Washington.

"I have a Fresno State offer, Iowa State and New Mexico State offers and Wyoming just offered me," said Washington. "I'm also hearing a lot from Nevada."

Washington could play either defensive back position.

"I'm getting recruited mostly as a safety but Iowa State is looking at me more of a cornerback," said Washington. "I could play corner, but I feel like safety is where I want to play in college. But if a coach decides to put me at a cornerback spot, I can definitely play it."

Washington finished the season with 80 tackles and five interceptions and also had a touchdown

out of the Wildcat.

"I'd love to do some Wildcat in college," said Washington.

Washington said Fresno State was his leader and he's scheduled a visit for January 14th to.

"I probably won't decide until February 3rd (Signing Day), because I'm planning on going on a few visits and see what school fits me the most," said Washington.

Academically, Washington has a 2.6 and will take the SAT this weekend and the ACT the following weekend.
