Three-and-Out

WLB Kyle Knox

FRESNO, Calif. – Director of Athletics Thomas Boeh announced Wednesday that Fresno State senior Kyle Knox has been suspended from the football team for the next two games while juniors Matt Hunt and Richard Helepiko have been suspended for one game for a violation of athletic department policy. These players will not practice the remainder of this week…

Losing Kyle Knox means sophomore Pat Su'a will probably start at weak side linebacker. Su'a has seen plenty of action in a reserve role behind Knox and strong linebacker Travis Brown.

Fresno State has already played multiple games this season without Richard Helepiko and Matthew Hunt due to injury. The Bulldogs have only had seven linemen see significant game action this season. All seven have started at least four games as well. Only starters Austin Wentworth and Bryce Harris, however, have started all nine games this season with Harris the only one that has started every game at the same position.

Senior right guard Leslie Cooper likely will start at center in place of Helepiko, and Trevor Richter at left guard in place of Hunt.

Knox was also suspended last year for the Humanitarian Bowl following the season for similar circumstances.
