Fresno State didn't score on its initial drive of the game for the first time this season. Isaiah Burse failed to hold onto a fourth down pass from Derek Carr at the Tulsa 30.
The Bulldogs picked off Tulsa QB Cody Green on consecutive drives to start the game. It was the ninth and 10th turnover of the season for the defense. Derron Smith picked off his second pass this season, and Pat Su'a recorded his first – returning it 20 yards for touchdown.
Quentin Breshears is struggling. He hooked an extra point and missed a field goal wide left as time expired in the half.
The ‘Dogs have 253 yards in the first half of total offense – less than half of what they recorded a week ago versus Colorado. But FS only had 66 yards in the second quarter. Tulsa has 186 yards of total offense on 37 plays. The ‘Dogs ran 46 plays in the first half.
Carr has coughed the ball up once on a sack, but the FS offensive line has allowed three sacks. It only had allowed four in three games coming into Saturday.
Robbie Rouse has 98 yards rushing on 15 carries. He scored the game's first points on a 37-yard touchdown run on a fourth down run at the 9:43 mark of the first quarter.
Josh Harper has four receptions for 83 yards, including a 32-yard touchdown catch.
Carr is 16-of-23 for 165 yards and the one touchdown pass. He's rushed five times for -13 yards.
