Fresno State responded with 27 unanswered points after falling behind 21-7 in the first quarter.
Derek Carr completed 21-of-28 passes in the first half for 289 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. He had three pass plays for 37 yards or longer.
Rashad Evans in his first game this season leads the Bulldogs with six receptions for 83 yards and two touchdowns. He also has 11 yards on two punt returns.
Fresno State turned the ball over twice, including a rare Robbie Rouse fumble, in the first quarter. San Diego State safety Eric Pinkins returned Carr's tipped pass 32 yards for a touchdown. The Bulldogs responded with three forced turnovers in the second quarter.
Derron Smith intercepted a pass for the third consecutive game. It's the Bulldogs ninth interception this season.
Fresno State limited SDSU running backs Adam Muema and Walter Kazee to 20 carries for 83 yards. However, quarterback Ryan Katz has 82 yards rushing, 67 coming on a scramble. Aztecs have 257 yards total offense.
Fresno State has 341 yards of total offense but only 52 yards rushing. Rouse gained just 14 yards on 10 carries but scored two touchdowns. He also has five receptions for 44 yards.
