Howard to Take Visits
Los Angeles (Calif.) Pierce College cornerback Howard Wilder has picked up a good number of offers since joining the team. "Recruiting has been great. I've been getting more and more offers as the season has gone on, so it's been going well. I have offers from Rutgers, Maryland, Tennessee, Kansas, Arizona State, Hawaii, New Mexico State, Pittsburgh, and South Florida," he said. The 6-foot, 185-pound prospect, who names field awareness and agility as two of his biggest strengths, says two of those programs are really standing out. "I really like Rutgers and South Florida. I like the atmosphere of both schools and how the fans love supporting the players on the team. They both have good academics and a good program for my major, Business," he said. Wilder, who is being recruited by Bulls' defensive backs coach Rick Smith and Scarlet Knights' defensive coordinator Robb Smith, plans on visiting both in December to explore each program and see if he feels at home. "I want to be comfortable at the school, want to go somewhere I fit in. I also want to go somewhere that I can go in and play and start right away because I'm a junior," he said Wilder has three years to play two and will graduate in December, then joining his future team in time for spring ball. In the meantime, he's continuing to work hard and hone his talent. "I really like it here at Pierce; it has been a great fit. I've improved a lot as a player and I have been working on my craft all season, improving every day. I study film every night and watch myself. That's another way to get better," he said.
