The senior class of ‘13 hopes to have their best moments in the coming weeks, but Bulldog Playbook looks back at some of their best moments to date going into senior night on Saturday.

Bulldog Born

Three players from the recruiting class of 2008 remain as seniors this season - Marcel Jensen, L.J. Jones, and Austin Wentworth.

Eight players from the recruiting class of 2009 will walk down the ramp for their final regular season game in Bulldogs Stadium on Saturday. Quarterback Derek Carr leads the group that includes Lars Bramer, Nat Harrison, Andy Jennings, Ben Letcher, Nikko Motta, Pat Su’a, and Jeremiah Toma.

The recruiting class of 2010 will have only one player in his last regular season game in Bulldog Stadium on Saturday - receiver Isaiah Burse. Just 7 of the other 20 class of ‘10 recruits are still with the team and have another year of eligibility.

One college transfer (Blake Dunn), two junior college transfers, (James Le’au and Mike Saenz), and two former walk ons (Jonathan Norton and Taylor Stewart) wrap up the senior class of 2013.

Derek Carr

2011 - vs. North Dakota - In Carr’s first start in Bulldog Stadium, he opened the game with an 85 yard touchdown pass to Jalen Saunders on the first play.

2011 - at Idaho - Carr’s first big breakout game as a sophomore. Carr threw for 371 yards and 5 touchdowns.

2012 - vs. San Diego State - Facing a 21-7 first quarter deficit, Carr led the offense with 536 yards and 5 touchdowns - and ran for 43 more yards - to score 52 points in a 10 point win over the Aztecs.

2013 - vs. Boise State - Derek Carr led the Bulldogs to just their second win over Boise State since the Broncos upset his younger brother David and the 2001 Fresno State team.

Isaiah Burse

2010 - at San Jose State - Isaiah Burse’s high school quarterback experience came into play for the Bulldogs in his freshman season. Burse got the ball on a reverse and threw a 43 yard touchdown pass to Rashad Evans.

2013 - vs. Cal Poly - Burse broke loose for two touchdowns on punt returns against Cal Poly earlier this season. He added a third touchdown on the night, this one being a 15 yard catch.

Lars Bramer

2013 - vs. Rutgers - After losing his starting spot at the end of the 2012 season, Bramer came back stronger than ever and helped the Bulldogs offensive line allow just one sack in Fresno State’s thrilling overtime win in the season opener.

Nat Harrison

2011 - at Idaho - The Edison High recruit scooped up a fumble and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown against Idaho.

Andy Jennings

2012 - vs. San Diego State - Jennings forced two fumbles in the Bulldogs’ shootout win versus San Diego State. He also had three tackles for loss with two sacks.

Marcel Jensen

2013 - at San Diego State - Marcel Jensen has caught two touchdowns twice in games over his Bulldogs career, but the tight end’s season saving field goal block at San Diego State may be his biggest moment at Fresno State. San Diego State lined up for a game winning field goal at the end of regulation, but Jensen asked to be put in for the block and he jumped up and got a piece of it to send the game into overtime.

L.J. Jones

2012 - at New Mexico - Jones helped lead the Bulldogs back from a 21-point first half deficit with a fumble recovery and an interception.

Ben Letcher

2012 - at New Mexico - Made back-to-back tackles for loss against the Lobos.

Nikko Motta

2013 - at Idaho - Motta has wrecked havoc for opposing offensive lines, but his highlight comes on a rare defensive lineman interception. Idaho quarterback Chad Chalich was hit by Derron Smith as he threw and Motta hauled it in for the pick.

Pat Su’a

It’s hard to pinpoint just one, but Su’a had many big hits on special teams over his Bulldog career. Su’a racked up 16 tackles on special teams alone in 2011.

2012 - at Tulsa - Su’a picked off a pass from Tulsa quarterback Cody Green and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown. The score gave the Bulldogs two touchdown in 19 seconds.

Jeremiah Toma

2012 - vs. Air Force - After injuries kept Toma out of the beginning of the 2012 season, Toma ended the regular season with seven tackles against Air Force to help the Bulldogs’ clinch a share of the Mountain West Championship.

Jonathan Norton

2013 - The four year walk-on got his first chance at playing time against Boise State this season. Norton came through with a several stops, including a pass breakup on fourth down to secure the first win over Boise State in 8 years.

Austin Wentworth

2013 - Cal Poly - Austin Wentworth was one of the Bulldogs’ most reliable linemen over the past three seasons, but the top moment for Wentworth most likely came on an unconventional play for a lineman. Carr passed to Davante Adams, who pitched the ball back to Wentworth who ran in for a touchdown.
