Fresno State is looking to add another defensive back to the 2014 class and Garrison Mitchell of Central HS (Beaumont) is currently on their radar. Fresno State's recent offer to the Texas DB has put the Bulldogs into his top schools. Mitchell says he has three schools he's most interested in.

"Currently, unless I get something else: Fresno, Sam Houston and New Mexico," Mitchell said.

He also played receiver in high school, but his play and ball hawking in the secondary earned him several offers including FBS offers from Tulane and LA Monroe. The DB stands at 6-foot-1, 186 lbs. He visited New Mexico in December and has two more visits scheduled for this month.

"I have a visit scheduled for the 17th," Mitchell said about when he'll visit Fresno State. "This weekend I'm going to Sam Houston State."

Mitchell received an offer from Fresno State on Dec 30. The Bulldogs instantly became a favorite for him. He's still learning about Fresno but he's interested about moving from his Beaumont, TX home to California.

"I have done some research," Mitchell said. "I'm trying to see what it's about. I like it because it's away and I've been trying to get away from home."

Mitchell plans to decide soon after his visits.

"I'll know what I'm going to do after I visit. I can't really decide right now. If I like it, that's where I'll be at."
