Mitchell Taking Key Visit

Mitchell Taking Key Visit

Defensive back Garrison Mitchell will visit Fresno State this weekend. Check inside for more on Mitchell...

Central HS (Beaumont, TX) defensive back Garrison Mitchell will take his official visit to Fresno State this weekend. It will be Mitchell's first time visiting Fresno State. Bulldog Playbook caught up with Mitchell to ask him a few questions about the recruiting season and how he feels about the process as a whole. When asked what schools Mitchell is interested in he said :

"The three schools I am looking into are Fresno State, Lamar University, and Houston Baptist."

With Mitchell being from Texas it makes sense as to why the latter two schools are in his top three. While Mitchell played defensive back for Central high school, he has experience playing on both sides of the ball. When asked if he had a preference as to what position he played or where he would be best utilized Mitchell said :

"I have played on both sides of the ball but I don't have a preference where I would rather play. They are recruiting me at safety so that's where I would play."

Mitchell will be in Fresno this weekend to check out the campus and meet up with the rest of the coaches to get a feel for what Fresno State has to offer him. If he likes what he sees there is the possibility of committing at the end of the weekend. When asked whether he would be ready to make a decision following this weekend or would wait until the end of the recruiting period Mitchell said :

"I believe after my visit I will have a decision no later than Sunday."

Check back in with Bulldog Playbook early next week to find out what Mitchell thought about Fresno State and if his future is with the Bulldogs or elsewhere. Recommended Stories
