Fresno State announced Friday that former Duke quarterback Brandon Connette has signed a grant-in-aid athletic aid agreement with the Bulldogs. Connette will be eligible for the 2014 season after graduating from Duke this past December.
"Our staff is fired up to have Brandon join our team this summer and strengthen our competition for quarterback," Fresno State head coach Tim DeRuyter said in a press release Friday. "He is a high-character, very intelligent young man that I think will fit in very well with our team. Given his experience in helping Duke and their spread offense go to the ACC championship, I think he is well positioned to compete to be our starting quarterback this fall."
He will join Myles Carr, Zack Greenlee and previous front-runner Brian Burrell in that quarterback competition this fall. Though Connette was know more for his running than his passing at Duke, he brings a wealth of experience and talent to the quarterback position for Fresno State this season.
