Here is some news on next year's Bulldog softball recruits and their recent
accomplishments:

-
Robin Mackin, the
highly-touted pitcher from Ontario, threw a perfect game no-hitter to lead the
Newmarket High School Raiders to their 7th consecutive regional championship,
defeating Denison 11-0 in a game played Thursday, June 11. Mackin, whose pitches
been clocked at 69 mph, struck out the game's first 17 batters in a row.

Haley Perkins of
Clovis West was named to The Fresno Bee's All-Section First Team for the second
straight year after leading the Golden Eagles to the Division I section
championship. Perkins led CW in batting average (.432), hits (41), runs (25) and
assists (56). Perkins struck out just once all season for Clovis West, which won
its second section title in four years. A First Team CIF all-state infielder a
year ago, Perkins is a finalist for that same honor again this year. She

the game-winning hit in the 7th inning of the section championship game for
Clovis West. She went 3-for-4 in the biggest game of her high school career as
the Eagles defeated Redwood 8-7 for the title.

Merryann Barr was
named to The Fresno Bee's All-Section Second Team despite not playing for Clovis
High since an April hip injury sidelined her for the rest of the season. Barr
was a First Team All-Section pick in 2004 and a 3-time All-TRAC selection. At
the time of her injury, Barr was Clovis' ace in the circle and already a 10-game
winner. She was named a member of the 2004 Louisville Slugger/NFCA High School
All-Region Team going 16-5 in the circle and hitting .359. Barr was also an
Academic All-American in high school.
