San Diego (Calif.) Mira Mesa is home to the top tight end and receiver in the state…
Top Valley Prospect Will Be at the Game
Standout Merced wide receiver Carter Todd was held to just 3 catches last Friday night vs. Crenshaw of Los Angeles. "They double-teamed me the whole night," Todd said. Merced still pulled out the victory, 27-21, and two of his three catches did go for first downs. He felt comfortable with his performance against one of the state's better football programs. Todd feels he will have a better game this Friday against North Valley rival Madera, who beat the defending Nevada state champions, Las Vegas, last Friday. "Yeah, I'll be able to get through, not because of the talent level, but because I will not be double-teamed," Todd said. Although he was playing last Friday night, he still was able to catch the Fresno State-Nevada game. "I saw it on tape," Todd said. "Fresno State dominated." Todd still lists Fresno State atop his list of favorites, along with Oregon and Cal. He also has an offer on the table from Nevada. Fresno State and Oregon meet this weekend, and both have Todd high on their wish list. "I'm going to the game this weekend," he said. When asked, if the winner of this week's game would make a difference in his college choice Todd answered, "No, not really." "I want to see the coaches, how they react," he said. "I want to get a better feel for the team." The all-state receiver is still receiving mail from a host of schools, including Northwestern, Michigan State, Washington State, and Colorado. He hopes to get a few more offers in the coming weeks. ©Copyright 2006, Barkboard.com and Scout.com. All rights reserved.
