Bakersfield (Calif.) Highland RB/WR/DB Anthony Johnson (6-0, 170) told BarkBoard.com last week Fresno State was talking about grayshirting him if he even received an offer. That is not the case any more. "It went real good, real good," Johnson said. "They offered me a scholarship. I committed." "I didn't know what to expect," Johnson said about his trip. Bulldog RB Ryan Mathews hosted Johnson on his trip. "I know Ryan," Johnson said of the fellow Bakersfield native. "He told me it's a good place to go and I should come there." Johnson said he like the Bulldog coaches, and the academic structure. "I really don't know yet," Johnson said about the possibility of grayshirting, redshirting, or playing as a true freshman. Nonetheless, Johnson said it felt good to get his offer and make his commitment. He says if did not get a chance to be a Bulldog, he was likely headed to a junior college. He will play slot receiver at Fresno State. Stay with BarkBoard.com for more on Anthony Johnson in the coming weeks. ©Copyright 2008, BarkBoard.com and Scout.com. All rights reserved.
