Two-way threat C.J. Anderson (5-10, 180) is coming off a junior campaign that saw him pass for 951 yards with 12 touchdowns and rush for 1,484 with 23 touchdowns. Defensively, he recorded 80 tackles and 1 interception. "[In college] I want to play running back," said Anderson. "My size says DB, but I don't mind being recruited as a position athlete." Anderson says his most recent mail has come from Illinois, Arizona State, UCLA, California, San Diego State, Stanford, and USC. He is originally from Detroit, and he would love to go back home to play his college ball. He moved to Vallejo when he was seven. "Michigan, I'm trying to go back home," said Anderson of his top school of interest. "I also like Florida, Virginia Tech, and any California school." He says he is trying to get bigger and faster this off-season. "I'm trying to drop my forty-time," said Anderson. He spent part of this week working out with King of the West guru Coach Tony Perry. "He's powerful," said Perry. "You don't run and throw for that many yards without having talent." Anderson will participate at a camp Friday at UC Davis. He will attend the Stanford Nike Camp in May, and he plans to camp at Cal and USC. He says he is also trying to attend a camp in Texas. In addition, he will likely attend a Scout.com Combine in May. He reports a 2.8 GPA. He takes the SAT on June 7 and the ACT June 14. Anderson can play on both sides of the ball, and he is seen here in action from the 2007 season. #17 C.J Anderson 2007 Highlights -- ©Copyright 2008, BarkBoard.com and Scout.com. All rights reserved.
