Capella has yet to receive his first offer but a solid group of schools is recruiting him.
He says he was invited to Cal and Fresno State's spring practices. He missed Fresno State's, but the Bears' spring game is this weekend.
"I'm a little upset I couldn't make it to [Fresno State's] practices," said Capella.
Capella says he will attend the Fresno State Individual Skills Camp June 7 and 8. In addition, he will also attend USC's camp in June. Speaking of, Capella competed at the USC Nike Camp this past Sunday.
"I want to show my stuff," said Capella. "My feet, I am agile for my size."
He did exactly that.
Only USC bound Kevin Graf outshined Capella in most drills. This bodes well for the Valley native, as he will take his strong performance to the Scout.com Los Angeles Combine on May 31. Until then, Capella will get many looks during the spring evaluation period.
"I want to go through the recruiting process," said Capella. "I feel my junior film was good enough to impress college coaches."
Alabama is probably the most intriguing school on Capella's list of favorites. The Crimson Tide has made some inroads in the Valley with their recent hiring of former Fresno State offensive coordinator Jim McElwain.
"My dad was talking to Coach Mac for awhile before he left Fresno State," said Capella. "[Alabama] has been sending stuff since. I like Alabama, but I prefer to stay on the West Coast."
Capella wears a size 19 shoe, and boasts an impressive wingspan. His max bench is 285 and max squat is 410. He reports a 3.0 GPA. He has not taken the SAT, but he is currently awaiting results from the ACT.
