Fresno State opens a three-game series with Mississippi in 2010, beginning with a game at Ole' Miss on September 25, 2010. The Rebels will play at Bulldog Stadium Octotber 1, 2011, becoming the first school from the SEC to come to the Valley. Ole Miss and Fresno State conclude the series in 2015 at Mississippi.
In 2011, Fresno State and Colorado begin a three-game series over a three-year period that will bring the Buffaloes to Bulldogs Stadium for the first time. Fresno State plays at Colorado September 24, 2011 and Colorado will be at Bulldog Stadium on September 15, 2012. The final year of the series will be played in Boulder, in 2013.
The Bulldogs will begin a three-game series with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Fresno State travels to Lincoln, Neb. September 10, 2011. The Cornhuskers will play September 13, 2014 at Bulldog Stadium, and the ‘Dogs return to Lincoln to conclude the series in 2016.
Nebraska ranks fourth in NCAA history for most college football wins, has won 43 conference championships, five national titles and produced three Heisman Trophy winners. Nebraska has an NCAA record-setting sellout streak that is approaching 300 games and dating back to 1962.
In addition, Boeh announced two California FCS schools that have been added to future schedules. The ‘Dogs will open the 2009 season hosting UC-Davis on September 5 and will host Cal Poly on September 4, 2010 and September 7, 2013 at Bulldog Stadium.
"Playing teams from California is important for us and for college football in the state," said head coach Pat Hill in a release.
"It makes sense for us to play other good programs in the state. UC Davis beat Stanford a couple years ago and almost beat San Jose State this season. Cal Poly has had a good program for several years and beat San Diego State this season. Those are good programs."
Fresno State's 2010 home schedule projects to be excellent. In addition to Cal Poly, a school the ‘Dogs have not played since 1985, Fresno State will host a team from the Big East – Cincinnati – team for the first time. The ‘Dogs have the potential to add one more home game in 2010, for seven home contests.
A home-and-home series with Cincinnati series begins in the 2009 season with the Bulldogs and Bearcats meeting in Ohio on September 26 and Cincinnati traveling to Bulldog Stadium September 18, 2010. The Bulldogs also will conclude a home-and-home series with Rutgers, Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Bulldog Stadium.
