Six Bulldogs Named All-WAC

1st team All-WAC LT Bobby Lepori

The season started with promise, but only LT Bobby Lepori made the 2008 All-WAC first-team, which was announced on Monday. The ‘Dogs had arguably the most talent in the conference headlined by returning All-WAC first teamers TE Bear Pascoe and ST A.J. Jefferson. RB Ryan Mathews, S Marvin Haynes, and DT Jon Monga were among the best at their position, however due to injuries, none were honored…

Who could have foreseen this? Two of the best players at their position in the country – TE Bear Pascoe and KR A.J. Jefferson – would not make the 2008 All-WAC first team.

Pascoe finished the regular season with 37 receptions for 361 yards and four touchdowns. Last season, he had 45 receptions for over 553 yards and four touchdowns. As for Jefferson, he could not match last season's national leading 35.8 yards per kickoff return. However, he still ranks sixth in the nation – second in the WAC – with a 29.3 average with one touchdown.

Bobby Lepori is the only Bulldog that was named to the 2008 All-WAC first team, which was announced on Monday. Pascoe made the second team while Jefferson was left off the squad. Four other Bulldogs did make the second led by linebackers Ben Jacobs and Chris Carter, who moved to defensive end a few games ago. Right guard Andrew Jackson and strong safety Moses Harris also made the second team.
