Donnie Pritchett (6-5, 260) is the impact defensive end Fresno State head coach Pat Hill has coveted for years. Pritchett did not play high school football his junior or senior year, but he broke out his sophomore year at Santa Rosa Junior College.
With offers from Fresno State, Kansas, Oregon State, San Jose State, and Utah, Pritchett narrowed his choices down to the Jayhawks and Bulldogs.
The allure of playing in a BCS conference was tempting, but for the California native, the San Joaquin Valley was much closer to home.
Pritchett is the 13th known verbal commit in the 2009 Fresno State recruiting class. He will have three years to play two.
