Fresno State fans will get a first hand look at what the future holds when future Bulldogs Greg Smith and Jerry Brown take the court this Friday in basketball all-star game. The College of the Sequoias, legendary prep coach and current COS assistant coach Tony Perry, and Coach Curtis Allen will host the all-star basketball classic this Friday, May 15 at the COS Gym.

The action gets underway with a girls' all-star game featuring South Valley high school seniors against Fresno area high school seniors. The boys' game will follow, but with an interesting twist.

The contest will feature mostly local high school seniors such as Hanford's Cougar Williams, Sunnyside's Dijon Snowden, and Edison's Jameal York along with out-of-area players Smith and Brown. However, they will oppose a collection of junior college players headlined by Fresno City College all-state guard Sultan Toles-Bey and Reedley's all-league guard Justin Ayers. Also featured on the JUCO team will be a few COS football players headed to BCS schools – Anthony Leon (Arkansas) and Jamar Howard (Cincinnati) – and former Michigan cornerback Johnny Sears, who will attend Eastern Michigan this fall.

Tickets to the event are $10. COS is located at 915 S. Mooney Blvd., Visalia, CA 93277. For more information please call Coach Allen at 559.927.2917 or Coach Perry at 559.417.7072. Recommended Stories
