Bobak Looking West and East

Ian Bobak

Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop Gorman defensive lineman Ian Bobak had a solid camp at Fresno State's team camp last month that resulted in his first scholarship offer. He followed it up with another strong camp at Washington, and he will attend Nevada's senior day later this month. He tells BB.C his options are open, and he would like to hear from some East Coast schools…

Ian Bobak (6-4, 250) is a versatile defensive lineman. He can play inside or outside with colleges recruiting him for both spots.

"Schools like my size and speed at end," said Bobak who was offered at defensive end by Fresno State last month.

He camped at Washington last month and came away impressed. "I don't have a bad thing to say about the place," said Bobak.

The Huskies are also recruiting him at defensive end, and Bobak says they could be close to offering him. "I had a really good camp," he added. "They liked my speed, and they said they're going to watch me this season."

Film is the biggest obstacle standing in the way of him and more scholarship offers. Bobak missed his junior year with an injury. However, his strong showing at Fresno State's team camp last month proved he is a legitimate D1 prospect.

"I'm trying to get the film from the Fresno State team camp to other schools," said Bobak.

He also camped at Arizona earlier this summer, and he is set to visit Nevada for senior day at the end of the month. But he does have aspirations of visiting some East Coast schools.

"I like Penn State. I like their football program and academics," said Bobak. "I also would like to hear from Boston College, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and UConn."

Bobak says his mom graduate from Connecticut but he has no ties to the other schools other than interest.

Arizona, Fresno State, Nevada, Washington remain high on his list, but he says he has no favorites. He plans to go through the recruiting process and take all five of his official visits.
