Hill did just that naming Ryan Colburn the starter earlier today. It will be his first career start. He did not see any action last season, but he saw spot duty in 2007.
True freshman Derek Carr could see action on Saturday as well. However, Hill prefers to have one starter. He doesn't want his starting quarterback constantly looking over his shoulder or trying to make a big play to keep his job.
With that said, Hill says he will not hesitate to insert the backup if the starter is not performing well. Unlike previous years, Hill feels he has two quality quarterbacks that can lead his team.
Regardless, redshirt freshman Ebahn Feathers will have a package. The extensiveness of his package will depend on the flow of the game. He may or may not see action against UC Davis. And if he does get on the field, he may see more time than any quarterbacks may, if his package proves to be effective.
