Fresno State Trip Familiar for McDonald

Jordan McDonald

Scottsdale (Az.) Saguaro DE Jordan McDonald reports back after visiting Fresno State this past weekend...

Three-star defensive end Jordan McDonald from Scottsdale (Az.) Saguaro left his official visit from Fresno State with a sense a familiarity.

Maybe it was because former teammate Erik Brown was his host.

Maybe it was because he felt like Coach Hill and his team were "family oriented".

Maybe it was because he is originally from the area.

Whatever the reason, the visit did nothing to change McDonald's top three, which includes the Bulldogs.

McDonald (6-4 240) visited Fresno unofficially this summer, and he was able to see the campus and facilities then. While he says he didn't see anything new, he is impressed with some of the renovations being made.

"They are rebuilding a lot of stuff," said McDonald.

"They are putting $10 million into expanding the training room and are making other improvements."

He wants to major in Fire Science (his father is the Chief of the Scottsdale Fire Department) and while FS doesn't have that specific major, there are courses they said he can take to get on that track.

"There is a fire science major at the local junior college and they have another major that is similar," said McDonald.

The Bulldogs handled UC Davis, 51-0, and he says he can see himself playing at Fresno.

"I was talking to Coach Hill and he says I would play the five-technique where I can rush the passer," said McDonald.

"They said I probably wouldn't redshirt, which will be a factor."

So what's on tap for Jordan?

"I have been talking to my teammate Kody Innes and we are probably going to visit Arizona State together. I am also trying to set up a visit to New Mexico."

McDonald and his Saguaro teammates are currently 1-0. They face Phoenix Sunnyslope (0-1) this week.
