On the first play from scrimmage Ryan Mathews broke off another touchdown run of over 60 yards giving the Bulldogs an early 7-0 lead. After Idaho punted Fresno once again drove down the field to take a 14-0 lead on an eighteen yard td pass from Ryan Colburn to Seyi Ajirotutu.
Once again Idaho could not do anything with the ball and the Bulldogs drove down to the 37 yard line. Kevin Goessling stepped in and kicked a 52 yard field goal making him 11 for 12 on the season and more importantly giving the Bulldogs a 17-0 lead. Mathews closed the scoring in the first half with a one yard run to give the Dogs a 24-0 lead at halftime.
The second half did not follow suit for the Bulldogs as the Idaho offense moved the ball up and down the field often. However, they were only able to put up 21 points and could never quite erase the 24 point deficit they faced at the half.
Mathews rushed for 144 yards on 26 carries and three touchdowns. Ryan Colburn finished the game a perfect 15 for 15 for 160 yards and one touchdown. Fresno State (6-3, 5-1) travels to Nevada next week in a battle that will likely be for second place in the WAC. Idaho (7-3, 4-2) travels to their in state rival Boise State.
