Fresno State Notches Commit No. 13

Cody Wichmann

Ten years ago, Fresno State mined the local Sierras for an unknown 6'4, 220-pound walk-on TE. That tight end was Mariposa's (Calif.) Logan Mankins, now an All-Pro NFL guard. The Bulldogs landed another Grizzly standout this week, Cody Wichmann, as reported in the Mariposa Gazette…

Head coach Pat Hill offered tight end/defensive end Cody Wichmann (6-5, 275) last weekend while he was on his official visit to Fresno State. He verbally committed this week to play for the Bulldogs.

Wichmann played four years of varsity basketball and three years of varsity football for Mariposa. He was named the Southern League Co-Outstanding Lineman in 2009.

He can officially sign his National Letter of Intent on February 3. Wichmann is the 13th known commit in the 2010 class and the sixth from Central California.
