SoCal LB Makes Bulldog Pledge

Ofa Fifita

San Bernardino (Calif.) Arroyo Valley linebacker Ofa Fifita had his choice of WAC programs to choose. He took an official visit to Nevada last month and officially visited San Jose State and Fresno State on consecutive weekends this month. With one more visit scheduled for Hawaii this weekend, Fifita decided to end his recruitment on Thursday night…

"I'm a Bulldog," Ofa Fifita (6-0, 220) said Friday morning after verbally committing to Fresno State on Thursday evening.

"I committed to [head] Coach [Pat] Hill and [LB] Coach [Tim] Skipper last night around 9 p.m.," said Fifita.

He took an official visit to Fresno State last weekend, one week after visiting WAC rival San Jose State.

"The [Bulldog] program has a lot to offer like coaching stability and they're an established, winning program," said Fifita.

He can play MIKE, WILL or SAM, but outside linebacker is his likely destination.

"They like me at either spot, but they think I can be more productive as a WILL backer," said Fifita.

Fifita becomes the Bulldogs 19th known commit in the 2010 recruiting class. High school recruits can officially sign their Nation Letter of Intent next Wednesday, Feb. 3.
