Wilson a Prospect to Watch

Fred Wilson

Bakersfield (Calif.) West athlete Fred Wilson is fast becoming one of the top rising prospects in Central California this summer. He was one of the top performers at the Passing Down Elite 7-on-7 Challenge, and he followed it up with a nice showing on day one of the two-day PD camp last weekend. Check inside to get his thoughts on the camp and recruiting…

Fred Wilson (5-11, 170) lined up at wide receiver and defensive for Team Driller at the Passing Down Elite 7-on-7 Challenge. The secondary was loaded with Bakersfield (Calif.) safety Mercy Maston and cornerback Brandon Johnson joining Wilson.

The trio helped lead Driller to an unbeaten record heading into the championship game, which they lost 14-12 to Kyle Boehm and Team Pro Sport from San Jose (Calif.).

Wilson made Scout.com's All Passing Down 7-on-7 team as well was named of the Baker's Dozen of top performers in the subsequent two-day camp. He currently holds no offers, but he is receiving interest from Fresno State, San Jose State, and UCLA among others.
