Hyde Park, aka the "Hill," is a small park near Fresno Edison High School, where legendary DB Coach Tony Perry produced 20 D1 defensive backs, including Tierre Sams, Ricky Manning, Clifton Smith
, Robert Golden
, and Cliff Harris
. After a two-year stint at College of the Sequoias in Visalia, Calif., Perry is back in the high school ranks at Fresno Central.
But he never stopped using the "Hill."
His former players religiously train with Perry in the offseason when in town. And they tell their friends and teammates about the unique incline workout.
On Monday, former Perry player Johnny Sears, who signed a FA contract with the Cincinnati Bengals this year, and Chicago Bear Woodny Turenne were among the handful of player working out with Fresno State defensive backs Isaiah Green and Phillip Thomas. Fresno (Calif.) Central four-star running back Brendon Bigelow and elite 2012 cornerback Tee Shepard were also there.
