The Series
Fresno State owns a 6-4 all-time lead against Idaho with five consecutive wins dating back to 1978. Fresno State won 37-24 last year in Moscow. The series began in 1945 at Fresno, a 13-12 Bulldog win. Idaho won the next four games in the series from 1956-67. In the Pat Hill era, the Dogs are 3-0 vs. Idaho and have won the three games by a combined score of 111-34. The last time Idaho came to Bulldog Stadium, the Dogs earned a 34-0 shutout of Dennis Erickson's team, Nov. 18, 2006.

Fresno State
The ‘Dogs are looking to rebound after suffering an inexcusable loss to Hawaii last week in their WAC home opener. FS turned the ball over six times, allowing the Warriors to score 20 points off them enroute to a 32-29 win in overtime. FS fell from the top 25 and face an uphill climb to a WAC championship after the loss to Hawaii.

The ‘Dogs are second in the WAC in rushing averaging 207.6 yards per game. The run game should get a boost with the return of Ryan Mathews, the conferences leading rusher (117.5 ypg). Fresno State is averaging 30.8 points per game but is giving up 27.4 ppg.

Idaho
Idaho enters the game with a 1-5 overall record and are 0-2 in the WAC. The Vandals are coming off a 49-14 home loss to Nevada last weekend. The Idaho attack is led by running back Deonte' Jackson, the sixth-leading rusher in the WAC. The Vandals average 19.7 points per game and are giving up 47.3 points per contest, and more than 51 points per game against FBS opponents. Head coach Robb Akey is in his second season as head coach and owns a 2-16 record. Idaho lost to Utah State and Nevada in WAC games this season.
