The Bulldogs built a 23-point lead in the second half en route to a 66-51 win over the Roadrunners on Wednesday night at the Save Mart Center. Paul George hits a buzzer-beating three with 11:59 left in the first to give the ‘Dogs a 12-10 lead. Mychal Ladd came off the bench to score back-to-back buckets to push the lead to 7, 19-12. Bulldogs go on a 18-6 to push the lead to 27-16 with 3:58 to go in the first half. CSUB goes on a 12-2 run over the course of six minutes from the end of the first half into the start of the second to cut the Bulldog lead to 29-28. Ned Golubovic broke the run at the 17:47 mark of the second half with a put back. And then added a free throw 17 seconds later followed by a Bryce Cartwright three-pointer 36 seconds later to start a 23-6. The ‘Dogs had a mini 13-0 run from 15:33 to the 10:42 mark with three pointers from George and Golubovic. And dunks from O’Neil on a breakaway and from Brian Seals down the lane on an assist from Cartwright. FS secured its biggest lead of the night at 23 points with 3:36 left in the game off a Dwight O’Neil three-pointer. George finished 5-of-8 from three point range.
