Turnovers Kill 'Dogs in Loss

Fresno State was outscored 46-27 in the second half in an 84-65 loss to Creighton in the Las Vegas Classic on Monday night. The 'Dogs shot nearly 50% from the field but could not overcome 21 turnovers, which led to 24 Bluejay points. Paul George led FS with 21 points. Dwight O'Neil added 16 points...

Fresno State (6-6) held its biggest lead at five points in a first half that saw the lead change seven times. The Bluejays opened the second half with a 10-3, leading by double digits over the game's final 10 minutes. P'Allen Stinnett and Woodfox hit consecutive 3-pointers to extend the lead to 64-50 that ballooned to 21 points with two minutes remaining.

CU made 20 of 25 free throws and shot 57% in the second half. It only had one turnover in the second half and out-rebounded Fresno State 36-28.

Booker Woodfox had 24 points and Kenny Lawson Jr. added 15 leading Creighton (9-2) to its sixth straight win.

The 'Dogs will play St. Louis in the consolation game at 4:30 p.m. PT on Tuesday night. DePaul will play Creighton in the championship game that follows.

Paul George scored a team-high 21 points for the, while Sylvester Seay had 17 and Dwight O'Neil 16.
