Fresno State, taking a break from conference play, downed second-year provisional Division I member Houston Baptist on Wednesday night at the Save Mart Center. Five Bulldogs scored in double-figures with Mychal Ladd leading the way with a career-high 22 points and 10 rebounds…

The Bulldogs trailed 2-0 but stormed to a 28-point lead late in the first half en route to a 46-22 halftime lead.

Houston Baptist’s Gordon Watt scored a game-high 23 points. He scored 21 of those in the second half when the Huskies cut the Bulldog’s lead down to 16.

Up next for the ‘Dogs is a showdown with first place Utah State Saturday night at 7 p.m. in the Save Mart Center.
