Full-time starter the past three years who posted 26/3.5/2.5 as a
senior, when he also intercepted one pass and broke up another.
Career-high numbers of 47/12/7 came as a sophomore.
Pos:
Explosive one-gap tackle who plays hard until the whistle blows.
Quick off the snap, slides off blocks and tenacious. Reads the action,
quickly locates the ball and works to be productive. Keeps his feet
driving up the field and plays with a nasty attitude.
Neg:
Lacks bulk on the inside, controlled by a single opponent or driven
off the line of scrimmage by large blockers. Marginal skills chasing
the action in pursuit. 2005-Finished the season with 31 tackles(10 solo), three pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries. Had three tackles against rival Arizona. He also earned the Cecil Abono
Co-Captain and Outstanding Defensive Lineman awards and was the Hard Hat Co-Champion for ASU's winter strength and conditioning program for the third time in his career.
2004-He was named the Gail Scott Most Improved Defensive Player. He finished seventh on the team with 47 tackles and was tied for first on the team and 6th in the Pac-10 with seven sacks. He also had a career-high seven tackles at the Sun Bowl.
2003-He made 19 tackles(7 solo) and had two sacks for the season, one against Arizona. He was also the runner-up to the Hard Hat Player award for his hard work in the off season.
2002-Was red-shirted as a member of the scout team and won the Glen Hawkins Defensive Scout Team Award. |
